چکیده
southern Omineca Belt, fieldwork was undertaken in 1987 to examine the geology of the Eagle River fault in the eastem Shuswap Highland. The Eagle River fault is a west-sidedown low-angle normal fault that juxtaposes low to mediumgrade metasedimentary and metavolcanic rocks of the Paleozoic Mount Ida Group atop high-grade gneisses of the Shuswap metamorphic complex (Figure 1-4-1 inset). Regional geology of the Shuswap Highland was first mapped by Jones (1959). He subdivided the metamorphic rocks into two groups of low-grade rocks (Mount Ida and Chapperon), and a group of high-grade rocks (Monashee) that approximately coincides with what commonly is called the Shuswap metamorphic complex (see Okulitch, 1984). Geology of the Shuswap metamorphic complex in the Monashee Mountains north of 51" north latitude was mapped by

Mineral Chemistry of Some Metamorphosed Shuswap-area Mineral Deposits (82l,m)
This paper is an initial report on the mineral chemistry of four metamorphosed stratabound mineral deposits which are located within or adjacent to the Shuswap Complex. These are commonly referred t” as Cottonbelt, CK, Goldstream and Big I.edge deposits. Rock specimens were selected from those collected by Trygve H6y of the British Columbia Geological Survey Branch. The particular specimens cho...

Recent field and geochronological investigations. in conjunction with LITHOPROBE seismic surveys, have led to the recognition of crust&scale, low to moderate-angle, Eocene extensional faults and shear ZOIIL‘S in the southern Omineca Belt. The present study focuses on documentation of the Eagle River fault, an extensional shear zone that delineates the western boundary of the Shuswap metamorphic...
متن کاملPhysiological condition differentially affects the behavior and survival of two populations of sockeye salmon during their freshwater spawning migration.
Recently, a segment of the Adams-Shuswap sockeye salmon (Oncorhynchus nerka) population initiated freshwater migration several weeks earlier than historically recorded, resulting in high mortality rates. The comigrating Chilko population maintained their historic river entry timing and did not experience elevated mortality. To test the hypothesis that population-specific differences in physiolo...

The Grand Forks complex, northern equivalent to the Kettle dome in the United States (e,g, Cheney, 1977; Cheney, 1980; Rhodes and Cheney, 1981), is one of many exposures of high-grade metamorphic rocks of North American miogeoclinal affinity in the southern Omineca Belt (Figure 1). These structural culminations bounded by Tertiary normal faults, often collectively referred to as the Shuswap com...

Surian volcano–sedimentary complex located on the eastern edge of the Sanandaj-Sirjan metamorphic zone, southwest Iran. Graphite schist is the most abundant lithological facies in this area. Due to the high grade of the graphite ore (up to 50%), the exploitation of the ore is economically valuable. Gangue minerals include quartz, muscovite, plagioclase, clinochlore, zircon and ilmenite. The occ...
